Please email other questions to info@wellspringspa.com, as there is not an office phone for Wellspring. We prefer to do all communications via email so that everyone has a record to refer back to!
If you are seeing a “Call Us” message, please refer to our Booking Tips topic, below.
EMERGENCIES AT HOME
Since there is not an office phone at Wellspring, we recommend that guests make a plan ahead of time to contact their loved ones or caregivers by phone or email at a pre-arranged time. To receive messages from home, please see our next topic on connectivity: WI-FI & CELLULAR
It has been a hallmark feature of Wellspring to be “unplugged,” and yet there may be times while you are with us that communication must take place via electronics.
INTERNET
Wellspring offers a very low key network that is accessible in our covered open air Gazebo, but not guaranteed to reach inside cabins. The network “Wellspring Guest” has the password: restandrelax
CELLULAR RECEPTION
You might have adequate cell reception to receive calls, or to create a personal hotspot for Wi-Fi; these are things to test when you are here. One guest advised that their reception improved when they changed their phone’s “cellular data” setting down from 4G to LTE.
If your cellular provider offers Wi-Fi calling, this can also help you use your own phone when within the range of our small network.
In addition, there usually is cell service on the highway and there is Wi-Fi at most of the local restaurants.
Should an Emergency arise during your stay, please contact our housekeeping/maintenance staff on their midday rounds. Our online assistance staff can answer an email written to info@wellspringspa.com to help you resolve an urgent issue.
WEATHER-RELATED POWER OUTAGES
Please know that in the forest, the electricity can go out for short periods of time.
— Please bring a flashlight with you for each person in your party, to use when you walk outside your cabin after dark. Wellspring provides lanterns to be kept *inside* your cabin.
— Bring extra battery packs for support equipment that you find important for your comfort (e.g. for cell phones or for a CPAP sleeping aid).
— Please pack adequate clothing layers and personal gear in case it is temporarily needed for warmth.
— The heat source is electric for these accommodations: Grace West, Turiya (except for the wood-fired sauna), Tioga (except for the stone fireplace), Treehouse, The Nest, and Trollhaven.
— Since weather and its effects are beyond our control, Wellspring cannot give refunds for power outages.
WATER SUPPLY:
– Wellspring’s tap water is sourced from its own deep, private well. The water is extremely pure and tastes wonderful!
– Should stormy weather shut off the electricity, there will be an interruption to our water pump. Your cabin and bathroom are ready with water supplies for essential use. Each bathroom at Wellspring has a large blue jug of water for toilet flushing. An additional supply of water is under each cabin’s sink to use for drinking, cooking and spot bathing.
CHECK-IN time is anytime after 3pm. CHECK-OUT time is by 11:30am.
QUIET HOURS
Please be a considerate cabin neighbor by observing Wellspring’s quiet hours: 10pm to 10am.
Parents with young children, please have quiet activities indoors in the morning before 10am, so other guests are not awakened by little voices at play outside.
WHAT’S THE EASIEST WAY TO SEE WHAT’S AVAILABLE?
On our booking page, each accommodation’s photo has a link to an interactive 3-Month Calendar View. Vacancies for that cabin — including 1-night availability between other reservations — will show their date(s) on a white background; occupied dates are on a gray square.
WHY AM I GETTING A “CALL US” ICON ?
When your availability search gives you a “CALL US” message — (which means, “please email us at info@wellspringspa.com“), the following may be the case:
1) OCCUPIED ? — One or more nights in the date range you are requesting may already be booked. This will be made visible when you click on the “View 3-Month Calendar” button next to the booking photo for that cabin.
2) PART OR ALL OF TATOOSH ? — Tatoosh Lodge can be reserved in several different configurations. At any given time, only one configuration will show as available online, in order to prevent double booking of the same spaces! See our TATOOSH LODGE OPTIONS topic to learn when different configurations can be made available.
HOW MANY NIGHTS ?
Wellspring generally offers two-night minimum stays.
⦁ One-night availability sometimes occurs naturally between bookings. These can be discovered with our Availability Search Tool, by clicking on the “View 3-Month Calendar” button next to the cabin you are interested in.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ?
To start your reservation, before you click on the BOOK button, first enter the total number of paying guests. A list will refresh to display which cabins can accommodate the total number in your group.
⦁ More info ~ see our “EXTRA GUESTS” topic.
ANY CHILDREN IN YOUR GROUP ?
⦁ Our “YOUNG CHILDREN” topic lists which accommodations at Wellspring are for children under 13.
⦁ On the Guest Information page, please type inside the “PREFERENCES” box the ages of children coming with you, and that you will bring a portable crib and linens for an infant or toddler who is staying for free.
⦁ If you are staying in a camper cabin, “PREFERENCES” is also the place to tell us whether you want the one king bed or two twins in the center of the room.
What is the difference between Tatoosh Lodge, Tatoosh Room, and Tatoosh Room With Loft?
⦁ Tatoosh Lodge is the whole building — which includes Tatoosh Room, the Loft, The Nest, and both bathrooms.
⦁ Tatoosh Room is the downstairs of the building and includes the full kitchen & long dining table, seating/sleeping area by the fireplace, and the one larger downstairs bathroom with jetted bathtub for 2 and waterfall shower.
PRIVACY: When Tatoosh Room is booked as a separate unit, the Loft is blocked off and no one can enter that space during your stay.
⦁ Tatoosh Room With Loft is the whole building except for The Nest, and includes both bathrooms.
PRIVACY: When Tatoosh Room With Loft is booked, no one may reserve or enter The Nest.
Why is there a CALL US message on the Tatoosh accommodation I want to book?
⦁ Please check whether at least one night in your series is already occupied by clicking on the “View 3-Month Calendar” button next to the accommodation’s booking photo.
⦁ Otherwise, the “Call Us” setting prevents double booking of the same space in different configurations of Tatoosh! Sometimes the availability can be changed for you by a request email to info@wellspringspa.com (see circumstances in the next question).
When can the Tatoosh configuration I want be made available to book?
⦁ For either Tatoosh Lodge or Tatoosh Room With Loft — any dates that are not marked OCCUPIED on its Availability Calendar — can be requested for booking online by writing to info@wellspringspa.com.
⦁ For Tatoosh Room and/or The Nest:
– These smaller configurations can be booked two weeks ahead of time or less, when still available.
Please visit https://wellspringspa.com/tatoosh/
to learn more about the different parts of Tatoosh Lodge,
and to see all their photos in one place.
WHICH CABINS CAN HAVE EXTRA GUESTS?

HOW OUR CERTIFICATES WORK
A Wellspring certificate works just like cash! As such it needs to be physically left behind with the cabin’s check-out card in order for the certificate’s value to be applied to the guest’s bill.
The recipient will book their stay online, making a credit card deposit for the first night’s cost. At the end of their stay, the certificate amount will first be applied to any outstanding balance on the reservation. Then any remaining certificate value will refund a matching amount of the deposit paid by the guest.
Recipients are welcome to upgrade to any accommodation or number of nights not covered by the gift certificate’s value, by paying the difference.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO ASSISTING YOU with your gift purchase!
Thank you for helping others return to this favorite place, or for introducing new guests to Wellspring !

When critical fire weather alerts come to our area, Wellspring must bar fires in any cabin fireplace or wood stove, in the wood-fired Greenhouse sauna next to Turiya, in the fire sphere at the Yurt, and in the Gazebo’s raised fire pit. (The propane grill remains available.)

The Gazebo is also the only location at Wellspring for outdoor grilling — either on the raised fire pit grill or on Wellspring’s own propane grill, with fuel and basic pans & utensils provided. A sink and counter area is there for food prep and clean-up. The two bathrooms at this location are reserved for private use by guests staying in our camper cabins.
* BURN BANS

MT. RAINIER
Wellspring is just a few minutes (3.7 miles) from the Nisqually-southwest entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. To enter the National Park in the winter season (Nov 1 – May 1) you must carry chains in your car. Take a look before you come for where chains may be rented.

HIGH WINDS
Please know that in the forest, the electricity can go out for short periods of time. Although Wellspring supplies lanterns for inside your cabin, please pack a flashlight for each person in your party, to use when you walk outside your cabin after dark.
Guests can further supplement Wellspring’s emergency provisions by bringing extra battery packs for devices, or for the support equipment (e.g. for a CPAP sleeping aid) that they find important for their comfort.
Should stormy weather shut off the electricity, there will be interruption to our water pump. Each cabin has a blue 5 gallon jug of water for toilet flushing; this water is also potable. An additional supply of drinking water is under each sink.
WINTER WEATHER
DRIVING HERE
When there is ice or snow in our Ashford area, the county keeps the roads sanded and plowed — but be prepared with tires for snow and ice (e.g., traction tires or studded tires).
⦁ Good shoes for some slippery spots are important too!

SNOWSHOEING
About snowshoe trails… There is an interactive chat link at visitrainier.com for recreation advice.
